Great ride this morning for Harry, Fred and David along the beautiful roads of our local area around Senlis. In fact, we rode today on the exact same circuit that I did yesterday…but hey, nobody is tired of it yet!
Departure this morning relatively early at 8 a.m from our normal rendez-vous point, but a quick technical stop was necessary to change Fred’s front wheel which was having some hub issues.
The same north-east wind from yesterday was present making the first half of the circuit a bit difficult, but we took turns with relays in order to spread the work between the three of us.
I’d say each of us was in pretty good shape and whenever we could somebody would drop the hammer and go over 40 km/h for quite some distance.
Beautiful roads and brightly-colored French countryside under a bright sun and blue, cloudless sky. What more could you ask for?
Once we got into Viller-Cotterets Fred had the good idea of a drink-stop, and we had coffee at a roadside café. The bikes needed a rest too…
We got started again and put the hammer down!
Fred working hard on his machine.
Harry and David getting serious about this stuff…
We finally ended up doing 110 kms in 3h35m for an average of 30.8 km/h. The circuit we did was really nice, as always, with a few nice, short climbs to add some spice in the otherwise flat terrain we have here.
Harry sums up the thought the three of us had on this lovely day. Spring and Summer biking in France; definitely good stuff!
